Upcoming Marine Plan User Training and Guidance Sessions.
The Marine Planning Team at the Marine Management Organisation would like to invite you to attend one of the MMO marine plan implementation training sessions.
These sessions have been designed to provide marine planning training and guidance to support applicants, decision-makers and other stakeholders to effectively implement the marine plans across all areas and sectors in England.
Under section 58 of the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009, it is a legal requirement for all public authorities to fully consider marine plans in all decisions that affect the UK marine area.
Sessions will cover a range of topics to support your use of marine plans across all sectors, including;
• Overview of marine planning, statutory requirements of marine plans and the tools and guidance available to support plan use.
• Marine Plan Policy Assessment and considerations required for successful applications and decision-making.
• Marine and land-use planning integration and best practice.
The MMO have sessions taking place across England and online with the session in the NW taking place in Lancaster on Tuesday 19 November 2024.
