The Solway Tweed’s third river basin management plan has to be finalised by December 2021. The Statement of consultation steps document sets out what SEPA and the Environment Agency will do to engage stakeholders in the preparation of this plan.
SEPA and the Environment Agency share responsibility for river basin management planning for the Solway Tweed river basin district. They are now starting the process of updating this plan.
The plan describes the environmental objectives for all the water bodies within the Solway Tweed river basin district, and is a route map for achieving them. The plan is updated every six years.

The Statement of consultation steps document sets out the steps SEPA and the Environment Agency will take to engage stakeholders in the preparation of this plan.

The consultation is open from 22 June 2018 to 22 December 2018. Stakeholder responses will be used to inform improvements to the consultation arrangements set out in the third River Basin Plan for the Solway Tweed.
