Online Training Workshop with SCAPE (linked to St Mary’s Isle Walk and Survey)

Online Training Workshop with SCAPE (linked to St Mary’s Isle Walk and Survey, see below)

Monday 25 July, 7.00pm to 8.30pm
Free Online event – Ahead of the St Mary’s Isle Walk and Survey, this is an online training session with SCAPE on an app they have developed.

Kirkcudbright has as rich a history as they come, and a day of walking the Sailors Walk around St Mary’s Isle will be enough to show that there isn’t a single section along its Bay that’s not steeped in history. And with so much history, comes a lot of archaeology! And amazingly, SCAPE Trust has developed an app that allows anyone to record archaeological sites along Scotland’s coasts.

As part of this event, SCAPE is going to hold an online training workshop on Monday 25 July at 7pm, telling us all about the app and how to use it. Then we’ll head out on Friday 29 July and use it to get a detailed recording of the boathouse and slate harbour on St Mary’s Isle. (You can also book walk/survey via Eventbrite).

This event is open to everyone and will be a great chance to learn more about this app which has been designed for anyone to use. You don’t have to be booked on for the walk itself to attend this online event.
