A windy Allonby Beach was the location for the launch of the new Beach and Explorers Guide to the Solway Cumbrian Coast!
The new guide will be distributed around the county and further afield to encourage local people and visitors to visit the beautiful coast.
Whether you want to just go for a stroll, walk the dog, rock pool or bird watch there’s a beach for all the family to enjoy.
The guide also gives information about the facilities at each location along with some interesting facts. Did you know? In Anglo-Saxon times, salt production was the country’s third most important industry. The best preserved examples of saltpans on the Solway Coast are at Crosscanonby.
