NatureScot seeks a Marine Sustainability Adviser to join the organisation.
The successful candidate will be part of a team providing advice on marine and coastal planning, marine and coastal ecology and sustainable coastal and marine development. The post will directly contribute to NatureScot’s role in addressing climate change and biodiversity loss.
The postholder will have specific responsibilities to contribute to NatureScot’s work on coasts, including coastal adaptation and nature-based solutions for biodiversity and climate change, and the role of coastal habitats as blue carbon stores. They will also provide advice for marine non-native species.
The role will principally involve providing ecological advice to inform and support NatureScot’s approaches to and delivery of their work for these topics. Associated activities, depending upon capacity and expertise, may include input to research projects, and representation of NatureScot on working groups and wider partnerships to develop further knowledge and working relationships in key topic areas.
