Natural Flood Management Evidence Conference in Cumbria

Natural Flood Management Evidence Conference in Cumbria.

The Cumbrian Catchment Partnerships are holding a conference on The evidence base behind Natural Flood Management on 14 November at J36 Conference Centre, nr. Kendal, LA7 7FP.

Arrival from 9 for a 9:30 am start – 4pm. Lunch and refreshments provided.

Natural Flood Management has received increasing attention over the last five years as the risk of flooding worsens and opportunities for funding traditional flood defences become limited. Many organisations across Cumbria and neighbouring counties have delivered natural flood management projects and monitored how effective they have been at reducing flood peaks.

This conference provides an opportunity to hear from academics and practitioners about how effective Natural Flood Management techniques can be and how they can be designed to be most successful, reviewing results of monitoring and modelling studies. There will also be a look at the future of NFM and how to build on the evidence for a resilient future.
