Low Tide Shore Walks at Allonby Start up Again.
After a two-year break due to the pandemic, Ann Lingard is continuing her shore walks on the Solway coast.
Ann will be showing groups of people what can be found on the shore within the Allonby Bay Marine Conservation Zone – ranging from the submerged forest (if it’s visible), seaweeds, the patterns of sand ripples, the range of pebbles, and of course the animals that live on or in the shore, on the rocks, and especially the reefs built by the extraordinary honeycomb-worm Sabellaria.
The first walk of the season will be held Tuesday 19 April with an early start at 8.15am to catch the low tide.
All the walks are free but booking is essential.
