Date: Monday 3 February
Meet: 10am at Mawbray Banks south car park, CA15 6QS, What3Words nowadays.tolerable.sprays and you will walk along to the beach from there. The aim is to finish and be back at the car park by 11.30am.
Bring: Drink/snack for afterwards, clothes and footwear suitable for task and expected weather – wrap up warm as it can be chilly on the beach.
Task: Join the SCNL to clean as much marine litter and debris as possible off the shoreline at Mawbray Banks. Alongside the beach clean you will also be doing a survey of the litter you find so that we can add our findings to the Marine Conservation Society beach litter database.
Date: Thursday 13 February and Thursday 27 February
Meet: 10am at Crosscanonby Carr Nature Reserve car park, CA15 6SL, What3Words tens.simulates.transmitted
Bring: Lunch and drink, clothes and footwear suitable for task and expected weather – wrap up warm.
Task: Over these two tasks you’ll be finishing the viewing platform at Milefortlet 21 and once that’s finished move on to the re-routed beck which runs through the centre of Crosscanonby Carr. Clearance of this started before Christmas but there’s more to do! You’ll be cutting back any saplings that have started to grow and clearing the channel to allow water to move more freely – wellies recommended. There will be plenty of other tasks to do around Crosscanonby as well in case you don’t fancy getting wet!
