Dumfries & Galloway Woodlands are running two workshops on coastal woodlands:-

SOLD OUT – Caerlaverock – the History of a Coastal Woodland will take place on Tuesday 27 August with 2 identical walks, one from 3pm to 5pm and one from 6pm to 8pm.

Join Dr Coralie Mills who ,along with the Dendrochronicle team (www.dendrochronicle.co.uk), have been studying Caerlaverock Castle Wood for HES. What can the ancient trees and their relationship with archaeological features tell us about changing land use through the centuries? How has the dynamic coastal location affected the history of this wooded cultural landscape?

Wigtownshire’s Coastal Woodlands – Folklore and More will take place on Saturday 7 September from 9.30am to 1.00pm.

Join Christy from Way of the Wild, and spend the morning wandering along the beautiful path from Garlieston to Rigg Bay. Discover the trees of the Coastal Woodland, their folklore, uses, edible and medicinal properties.
