It is World Oceans Day on Monday 8 June and Solway Firth Partnership have created some fun online activities inspired by our seas. Why not go online and discover how to make a shark or test your observational skills with the Website Scavenger Hunt!
In the Year of Coasts and Waters 2020, we are all looking forward to visiting beaches and in place of our annual World Oceans Day event; we will be celebrating our wonderful oceans from our homes. You can take part in ‘Guess the Coastal Location’ and see how well you know the Solway coast or try some ocean quizzes. There are lots of things to do and make from the safety of your own home to entertain the whole family. To find out more visit the Solway Firth Partnership website and search for interactive resources.
To celebrate World Oceans Day we will put up an online gallery of homemade sharks and other marine creatures. Send a photograph of your crafty creations to firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and we’ll put it up on our website.
Clair McFarlan, Solway Firth Partnership Manager, said: “We are really disappointed that we aren’t out on the beach this year for World Oceans Day. But we have got lots of fun activities that the family can have a go at from the safety of their own home.”
