‘A sense of place’: Creative Writing on a Solway Saltmarsh – Book Now!

‘A sense of place’: a creative writing workshop on a Solway saltmarsh will run on Saturday 8 June from 10.00am to 4.00pm.

The saltmarshes of the Upper Solway change daily with the tides and weather, and are home to millions of minute animals, salt-tolerant plants, and thousands of feeding birds. How can we convey our experience of these special places in words? This workshop for practising and aspiring writers – fiction and non-fiction – will be led by novelist, creative writing tutor and shore-walker Ann Lingard, at the RSPB’s Campfield Marsh Reserve near Bowness-on-Solway.

The day will include a wander on the saltmarsh, followed by a session indoors in the Solway Wetlands Centre. Full details (including how to book, through Cumbria Wildlife Trust website are on Ann’s Solway Shorewalker blog

Please bring warm clothes, waterproofs and wellies. Tea and coffee and cake will be provided at the indoor venue but bring your own lunch. Don’t forget a notebook and pen and camera!

This is a free event although a minimum donation of £5.00 to Cumbria Wildlife Trust or the RSPB would be appreciated.
