WORLD OCEAN DAY PORT WILLIAM

On Sunday 7th June Solway Firth Partnership will be celebrating World Ocean Day at Port William by getting up close to lobsters, identifying seashells, learning about seagrass, rockpool creatures and seaside pollinators. Join us on Harbour Green where Freelance Ranger Elizabeth Tindall will lead activities for young and old while PIRSAC will have their inshore rescue boat on display.
Local fisher Paul McGuire is opening the doors to his lobster and crab holding tanks that are designed to provide the optimum conditions to ensure happy and healthy shellfish and will allow the public can get up close to wildlife from our seas.
Experts will be there between 11am and 3 pm to help identify seashells and introduce visitors to the wonderful world of seagrass, seaweeds and other seashore finds.
