Take Part in the NHM Big Seaweed Search

Help the Natural History Museum monitor the effects of environmental change on Britain's sea life by exploring the seashore and recording the living seaweeds you find there.

The UK is a special place for seaweeds but as they are not as popular as flowers, butterflies or birds, fewer people make and submit observations of them.

It is really easy to take part and only takes around 1 hour to complete on your favourite beach.
