Clean and Safe
This chapter includes descriptions on the quality and health of the Solway Firth. It also describes human activities which are potentially hazardous to the ecosystem. Should activities or processes cause changes or degradation to the Solway’s quality or cleanliness there will be an impact on the biological aspects of the firth. These effects may be fast or gradual depending on the type and severity of change/damage. Changes in the biodiversity of the Firth would also have an effect on the human interaction with the Solway, both economically and socially.
