A fun day out for all the family
This Saturday the Crichton Campus will play host to hundreds of visitors as it celebrates our local wildlife and natural environment at the 2015 Dumfries and Galloway Environment Fair.
The event, which is supported by the universities, will take place on Saturday 14 March between 10am and 3.30pm in the Rutherford McCowan Building, the Crichton. The event has been organised by Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Countryside Rangers and students from the University of Glasgow with funding from DG Council.
The Fair is free for everyone and offers a variety of both indoor and outdoor activities from making shelters and charcoal with the Rangers to chatting to Environmental Stewards and even test driving an Eco car. The Fair is also a chance to find out more about recycling, sustainable transport and volunteering as well as learning what you can do to make a difference to your local environment.
Volunteer organiser and Glasgow University student, Henriette Scholz, said: “For visitors, having the Crichton as this year’s venue provides the perfect occasion to have a look around the Dumfries University Campus and find out about higher education. We students will be more than happy to talk about our experience. Visitors will also get the chance to talk to people from across the environmental sector!”
