SIMCelt Project Closes

The 28th and 29th November saw the SIMCelt Closing Conference take place at the BlueCoat in Liverpool.

The two day event, analysing the implementation of Maritime Spatial Planning in the Celtic Seas, saw around 200 delegates attend from Member States and beyond, to hear about the Project's outputs. This included a presentation on the outputs of the case study 'Planning Across Borders: The Solway Firth' by the Solway Firth Partnership Project Officer, Emma Baruah.

The two-year EU-funded Project comes to a close at the end of the year with all the reports from the project being made available on the website shortly thereafter.

Shore Search Solway: Discovering Cumbria's Solway Coast

We are hoping to secure Lottery funding to work with coastal communities on the Cumbrian side of the Solway for the benefit of people and wildlife. We want to help coastal wildlife to thrive on the shores of the Solway and develop our plans for the future of our work on the coast.

To inform our application, it is important that we have more information about how people in Cumbria feel about the Solway coast and the sorts of activities you might like to get involved with.

Please complete this short questionnaire to give us your views and let us know what you would like to see delivered in your area. It should only take 5-10 minutes.”

The amount of funding which can be awarded under the EMFF programme in Dumfries & Galloway has been increased from 50% to 100%. Applicants can now apply to cover all costs related to their project, as long as their project fulfils one of the following criteria:

Projects which cannot demonstrate they fulfil one of the above criteria are limited to 50% funding.
