New Programme for Stranraer Oyster Festival

Friday 14 to Sunday 16 September

The first Stranraer Oyster Festival in 2017 was a phenomenal success with more than 10,000 visitors.

The festival organisers intend to build on last year and have come up with an even better programme of activities, ranging from cookery demonstrations and live music to felting workshops and Mostly Ghostly Tours!

So don't miss out on your chance to book onto one of the cooking demos or the big oyster bash at North West Castle!

2018 Great British Beach Clean

This year's Great British Beach Clean will take place on Friday 14 to Monday 17 September.

The information volunteers have collected over the last 25 years has helped make some of the most significant impacts on beach litter ever - the plastic bag charge, micro plastics banned in personal care products, better wet wipe labelling, and massive support for a tax on 'on the go' plastic single use items.

But it's not job done. Marine Conservation Society need to gather more and more data to wage war on other types of beach litter, and you can help.
