Year of Coasts & Waters 2020 / 21
VisitScotland has confirmed that Scotland’s Year of Coasts and Waters will flow into 2021, welcome news given the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on many activities. Throughout the year NatureScot will also bring our wonderful shorelines and waterways to you through inspiring content on our website and social media channels using #YCW2021.
Scotland’s coasts and waters are being showcased in 2020/21 with a themed year designed to inspire both visitors and locals to explore and experience our unrivalled shores, rivers, lochs and waterways.
Led by VisitScotland, the Year of Coasts and Waters 2020/21 (YCW2020/21) aims to build on the momentum of previous themed years to celebrate and promote opportunities to enjoy Scotland’s fantastic coasts and waters, encouraging responsible engagement and participation.
The year 2020/21 will focus on unique, authentic experiences and sustainable tourism, with the following four key strands:

Food and Drink
Scotland’s coasts and waters are rich in life and colour and draw visitors from around the globe. As part of YCW2020/21, NatureScot wants to encourage and inspire people to explore our wonderful coasts and waters.
