Cabinet Approval has just now been given for the Workington Port Masterplan.
Cumbria County Council’s Cabinet unanimously agreed to endorse the new masterplan for the Port of Workington on Thursday 23 September.
The purpose of the masterplan is to identify opportunities to support the continued sustainable development of the Port through new business opportunities and improved infrastructure, which in turn will support the economic growth and potential of the wider region.
The masterplan provides a clear vision for the long-term future of the Port, focusing on how the Port can expand its core freight transport customer base, as well as develop the skills and facilities needed to support green industries – diversifying the economic and environmental potential of the Port.
