Discover the stories behind the coastline of Dumfries and Galloway where the rugged coastline includes caves, islands and sandy beaches.
A series of short guided walks to discover the meaning of place names that reveal stories of wrecks, superstitions and safe havens as well as enjoying an amazing coast!
On Wednesday 18th July 10am – 12noon explore the secrets of Back Bay of Monreith at low tide.
On Thursday 19th July 11am – 1.00pm walk over to Ardwall Island and where the stories of the past will be revealed.
On Friday 20th July 2.00pm – 4.30pm find hidden caves at Ardwell Bay on the wild west coast of the Rhins.
On Monday 23rd July 2.00pm – 4.30pm discover the meaning of place names along the cliff top between Portpatrick and Port Kale or Lairds Bay.
The walks will be an easy grade, mostly on paths / grass / sand but with some rougher sections (and steps on Portpatrick route) and 2km in length.
Although the events are free booking for both walks is essential.
