Amaze Me LEADER Film Screenings

During the Summer of 2018, nearly 60 young people aged 18–30 from Scotland, Finland, Latvia and Estonia came to Dumfries and Galloway to take part in a week long Amaze Me LEADER event.

The journey, funded by Dumfries and Galloway LEADER programme, involved them travelling across the region to consider the strengths, weaknesses, challenges and issues for young people living in rural areas across the EU.

The film screening will involve a showing of the documentary of their week-long adventure. There will also be feedback from young people who participated from Dumfries and Galloway and other rural areas of Scotland about the issues raised.

There will be a discussion about how they intend to move forward by influencing decision-makers to help address these issues.

Everyone is welcome, particularly:
• Young people aged 16 to 30 who may be interested in becoming activists around the key themes raised (tourism, environment & climate change, mental health, and employability & skills building).
• Young people aged 18 to 30 who may be interested in participating in a week-long cultural exchange to Europe as part of Amaze Me LEADER 2019.
• Professionals and decision-makers from public, private and third sector agencies to come along to learn from the young people and to consider how they can help involve young people in decision-making within their own agencies, and to co-produce solutions with young people in the future.
