Coastwise walks

Explore seashore stories by taking part in one of three guided walks in May 2017. Three Coastal ranger led walks will discover place names and wildlife revealed by the low tide at Monreith, Carrick and Sandyhills.

The big tides at the end of May provide an opportunity to explore the Dumfries and Galloway coastline. Three Solway Coastwise short walks will explore seashore stories associated with caves and islands on our rugged seashore. From smugglers and ship wrecks, healing wells to mermaids the guided walks will reveal the cultural heritage of the coast as well as looking at the wildlife on cliffs, sandy bays and rockpools.

The walks are FREE but the number of participants are limited so booking is essential.
