Marine plan development questionnaire

The MMO would like your views on the latest step in the development of the marine plans for the north west.

The Marine Management Organisation (MMO) have launched a questionnaire to gather your feedback on the first outputs of marine planning in the north west marine plan area.

The questionnaire is open until Friday 31 March 2017, and includes questions on the recently published issues database, supporting evidence, proposed draft policies to date, as well as a new interactive format.

It’s the first opportunity for you to find out how the issues with evidence gathered last year are being taken forward into draft policies.

The questionnaire also focuses on the proposed draft policies which we have been developing. The policies build on the issues analysis work and existing policies for the East and South Marine Plans.

It also introduces a new proposed format for marine plans. This new approach has been developed following stakeholder feedback on the length and complexity of the East and South Marine Plans. It takes a shorter, more digital, interactive approach, linking directly to our Marine Information System (MIS).

The questionnaire is an important part of the MMO's eight week programme of engagement activity, which also includes a series of workshops, announced last month.

Your feedback is an essential part of the marine planning process, and is invaluable in making sure the marine plans are developed to be locally responsive, robust and evidence based.

The MMO encourage everyone to review the outputs and complete the questionnaire.  To take part in the questionnaire visit the MMO consultation website

You can also sign up for a marine planning workshop, at the Eventbrite page for the north west marine plan area workshops
