Allerdale Local Plan (PART 2): Site Allocations

Allerdale Borough Council is in the process of preparing a Site Allocations Development Plan Document
(DPD) that will form Part 2 of the Allerdale Local Plan.

The Site Allocations DPD will identify sites necessary to meet the Borough’s development needs to 2029, as set out in the Strategic and Development Management Policies DPD (Allerdale Local Plan Part 1).

Following the ‘call for sites’ conducted at the end of 2013, and ‘Issues and Options’ consultations
undertaken in 2014 and 2015, the Council has now identified its ‘Preferred Options’ sites, those that it
considers most appropriate for development to meet the strategy and targets and set out in the Allerdale
Local Plan (Part 1).

Allerdale Borough Council are now commencing a consultation on the Site Allocations Development Plan Document: Preferred Options, and they welcome comments on the policies outlined, the sites selected, and the alternative sites which were identified but discounted.

Comments received from this consultation will assist the Council in making its final selection to take
forward for allocation, which will be subject to a further consultation. The consultation period runs from 27
January 2017 – 24 March 2017.
