Local Development Plan Consultation, Dumfries and Galloway

The Local Development Plan sets out how and where land and property will be used in Dumfries and Galloway to realise the vision for the next 20 years.

All planning applications received by Dumfries and Galloway Council are decided on the basis of land allocations and policies within the Local Development Plan (LDP).

Dumfries and Galloway Council adopted the current LDP on 29 September 2014 and it must be reviewed every five years to keep it up to date. Preparation of Local Development Plan 2 (LDP2) is underway. The council are currently consulting on the Main Issues Report and the SEA Environmental Report for Local Development Plan 2.
