New Job Advertised for SIMCelt Project


Research Assistant / Postdoctoral Research Associate sought to work on a European Commission-funded project supporting the implementation of maritime spatial planning (MSP) in the north European Atlantic.

 

The post will focus on an evaluation exercise for an Marine Spatial Planning process within the project region.

 

Activities may include: gathering data relevant to MSP processes; carrying out policy analysis relevant to MSP implementation and evaluation; working with MSP authorities in developing MSP evaluation measures; and communication activities for the project.

 

This post will involve periods of travel within the project region. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in project meetings. They will also be expected to represent the project and present the project’s findings at national and international events, including academic conferences and stakeholder and policy-making fora.

 

The University of Liverpool seek an excellent individual to expand and strengthen the wider research programme in the broader field of marine spatial planning and governance.

 

Applicants should have a PhD in a marine or planning-related subject for appointment as a Postdoctoral Research Associate (Grade 7) or a MA/MSc in a marine or planning-related subject for appointment as Research Assistant (Grade 6).  An excellent research record in spatial planning and/or marine management and a good record of collaborative teamwork is also required.
