How you can help the Solway

The Solway always needs volunteers!  There are lots of opportunities on both sides to help maintain and preserve this spectacular and unique environment.  Contact the people below for more information

Dumfries and Galloway - National Scenic Area Ranger Ian Brown is always looking for new volunteers for the full programme of events he organisers.  Contact Ian on 01387 260180, mobile 07824 708110,  or email ian.brown2@dumgal.gov.uk.  The NSA monthly newsletter, with news, chat and events,  can be downloaded here.

Dumfries and Galloway - Ben Mitchell organises a volunteer group on Tuedays at RSPB Mereshead supported by the NSA Countryside Team. If anyone would like to join this group please contact him on 01387 780298 or 07833747472, or email ben.mitchell@rspb.org.uk

Cumbria - Events are organised by the Rangers of the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty based at Silloth. For more information  contact the AONB Unit, next to the Solway Coast Discovery Centre, Lidell St, Silloth CA7 4DD; phone 016973 33055 or email graeme.proud@allerdale.gov.uk   Tools and equipment required for work-days will be provided.
